As well as the main phone line ‘primary path’ on which Redcare GSM operates, it provides the reassurance of a back-up ‘secondary path’ using mobile phone technology to communicate with the ARC. Backup path at the ready
A secondary path runs alongside the main phone line, so if your phone line fails, Redcare GSM automatically switches to the mobile network secondary path (roaming SIM) which is primed and ready to go.
Intelligent Roaming SIM
Redcare GSM selects the best available UK mobile network. If it becomes unavailable, the roaming SIM will automatically select the next best network.
Emergency Services response on path failure
In the unlikely event that both your phone line and the mobile phone technology paths fail, a separate failure alert for each path will be sent to the ARC and the Emergency Services will be alerted. No additional set up or installation costs Redcare GSM doesn’t need a dedicated phone line – it works on your existing phone line* and provides alarm signalling even if the phone line is in use.
Continuous service
Continuous monitoring of your phone line means that the ARC will be alerted within 40 seconds of any fault occurring or if the line is cut.
No extra call costs
No added charges are applied for communication between your alarm and the BT Redcare network.
No risk of signal interference
The dedicated BT Redcare network is unique to BT – no other system uses it, which means there is no risk of your signal getting lost.
